100% Manual Cameras. Similar to the FM10?
Nikon FM10 – Canon Equilavent?
I am interested in starting as a true beginner in Photography. First off I am not looking to be swayed to purchase a digital SLR camera.
Okay. I want to start out at the complete basics. Currently I am looking into Manual Focus cameras. Due to the lens supply between canon and nikon those are the two main companies I am looking into. What is the equilavent camera offered by canon that offers the same beginner manual autofocus as the FM10.
Thank you.

In response to your above advice. Um was I unclear. I am looking for a 100% manual camera so I can learn photography w/out any assistance from AutoFocus etc. I understand the F100 has manual setting but i want a truely 100% mechanical manual camera to learn on.

ahhh I miss my old Canon FTb – they used to call it For The Birds… ha! it was great! Loud, but great. Their top-of-the-line manual was the A or A-1… can’t quite recall now, loss of many brain cells since then…
Nikon made a lot of manuals, I had an FM, and still own an FM2. Their top models were the F or F1 back in the late 70’s & early 80’s. I worked in a camera retail chain back in those days.
ooops just re-read your post, none of these above are auto-focus. But if you want to learn from the bottom up, what’s wrong with learning how to focus? It’s easier than learning depth-of-field, that’s for sure…
