Filters can be used in the Sony A330?
Hello everyone, I recently bought a Sony A330 with 18-55mm Lens-sound in the post now! I'm completely new to SLR photography and I was looking for some advice on what filters to buy and what sizes, etc., go to Krakow in 2 weeks and I hope the snow .. Any pointers appreciated! Thanks
His 18-55mm lens requires 55mm diameter filters. You need a minimum of two filters: 1) A Haze / UV filter. More to protect the front element than anything else. 2) A circular polarizer. It is used to darken blue skies and eliminate or minimize glare / reflections from glass, snow, water, sand and painted metal – but not polished metal. It also enhances the colors. A microfiber cloth lens cleaning would be a good buy additional. Do not go cheap your filters. Buy quality – Heliopan, Hoya, B + W, Tiffen, Singh-Ray. "A good filter is not cheap and a cheap filter is not good." For take photos of the snow, I recommend using aperture priority and +1 EV of exposure compensation to +2 EV. If relying solely on your camera meter of snow will be a grayish color. You can also use the "metering" and the establishment of a counter on the subject, either a person or an object, then based on the image. The snow will be white, but without relief – More white and transparent coverage. You really to discuss owner's manual for your camera during the next two weeks. Good luck and Godspeed.
